Video: What it actually feels like to spend 7 days living on Disney Treasure as a family.

There is something strangely magical about stepping onto a Disney Cruise ship for the very first time or in our case the 4th time. The second we boarded the Disney Treasure, it honestly felt less like getting onto a cruise ship and more like stepping into an entirely different world. Since our first cruise in 2024 we have been hooked on them, it’s like an urge you just have to keep itching because they’re that great… Can you tell I LOVE cruises!

But for the next seven nights, this ship became our home as we sailed through the Caribbean visiting Cozumel - Mexico, Falmouth -Jamica, Grand Cayman Islands & Disneys Castaway Cay and with Disney Cruise Line, of course you spend your days jumping between pools, Broadway-style shows, character meet and greets, late-night deck walks and far too much food.

What makes Disney Treasure feel different from most cruises is how immersive everything is. The ship doesn’t just feel themed, it feels alive. Everywhere you walk there are small Disney details, live music, beautiful spaces and constantly something happening around you, like you would never get board!. Even simple things like walking back to your room somehow felt exciting because the towel animals and chocolates waiting for you.

Of course, Disney Cruise Line definitely comes with a premium price tag, and we’ll talk honestly about whether we think it’s worth the money throughout this post. But as an overall family experience, this ended up becoming one of our favourite trips we’ve ever done together.

Q&A

Is Disney Treasure worth the money?

Honestly, this completely depends on what type of holiday you enjoy. Disney Cruise Line is undeniably expensive compared to many other cruise lines, but the level of entertainment, theming, service and overall atmosphere is on another level. For us, it felt less like a cruise and more like living inside Disney for seven days. But out of the four Disney ships we have now sailed on (Wish, Dream, Fantasy & Treasure) this was our least favourite.

Is Disney Treasure good for toddlers and young children?

Absolutely!. Athena was completely in her element the entire trip. Between the character meet and greets, kids clubs, pools, deck parties, shows and constant activities onboard, there was always something happening. She was never board and neither was we.

Does Disney Treasure feel crowded?

At times, yes. Areas like the main pools and elevators could get busy, especially on sea days. But surprisingly, the ship still felt calmer and less chaotic than we expected but it sometimes does feel busier than other cruise lines due to the family appeal.

What was the best restaurant onboard Disney Treasure?

This will completely depend on personal taste, but rotational dining was one of our favourite parts of the cruise. Every evening felt different and made dinner feel like part of the entertainment rather than just another meal. Your servers follow you each night as you rotate dining rooms but if I had to pick one I am a fan of the food In the Marvel restaurant.

Is the food good on Disney Treasure?

Overall, yes. There is a huge amount of variety onboard, from sit-down dining to quick service food and snacks throughout the day. Some meals were incredible, while others were more about the experience and atmosphere than the actual food itself. But i give the food a solid 8/10.

What was your favourite part of Disney Treasure?

The live entertainment at night, the food, the ports of call, the activities onboard and i could go on and on. I loved it all!

What was your least favourite part of the cruise?

The price. Disney Cruise Line is expensive, and once you add gratuities, extras and onboard spending, the overall cost climbs quickly. Pool areas could also get quite busy during peak times. I think it maybe because there is no casino onboard so they need to make some money back somehow or it could be just because it ‘Disney’.

Is seven nights too long on Disney Treasure?

No. If anything, the time went incredibly quickly. Because there is constantly something happening onboard, we never really felt bored during the trip. We didn’t even get everything done we wanted to.

Do you need to book activities in advance?

Yes. Especially things like speciality dining, port excursions and certain onboard experiences. Popular activities can book up very quickly on Disney Cruise Line.

Are Disney cruises only for children?

Not at all. While Disney Cruise Line is obviously incredibly family-focused, there are also adult-only restaurants, lounges, quieter areas and plenty of spaces that feel much more relaxed away from the main family areas. But I would say families is there core audience and if you was not a ‘Disney fan’ and wanted to try it and didn’t have kids… It might not be for you.
